The Lod Development Foundation was established in 2008 with the goal of initiating, advancing, and supporting social, educational, and community projects for the city of Lod and its residents. Its work focuses on strengthening educational systems and employment pathways, developing youth programs and initiatives, encouraging volunteerism and civic engagement, and creating opportunities for dialogue and connection among the diverse groups and sectors that make up the city’s unique social fabric.
The foundation operates as a private, independent nonprofit supported solely through donations, and serves as an engine for urban growth and long-term social change. Its activities are built on broad partnerships among residents, the local municipality, private donors, philanthropic foundations, the business sector, and government ministries, with the aim of strengthening community life and creating a model of a shared, thriving city.
Lod, with its rich cultural diversity, serves as a microcosm of Israeli society and embodies the potential for coexistence, cooperation, and shared creation. Guided by this understanding, the foundation works to strengthen the social and communal resilience of the city’s residents, with a focus on connecting past, present, and a shared future.
Anatta Foundation has supported the Lod Development Foundation for more than twelve years. This partnership established the Human Spirit Center—a mental wellness and diagnostic center for children and adolescents in the city that provides emotional therapy, parental guidance, and group therapy programs.
In addition, Anatta Foundation supports the Lod Development Foundation’s ongoing operations and a wide range of additional community and cultural initiatives, including art exhibitions, educational projects, and programs that promote resilience and mutual responsibility throughout the city.
