Kiryat Adam was established in 2016 in the city of Lod, out of a deep commitment to the city’s unique, complex reality and its residents. The center was founded by Anatta Foundation in partnership with the Lod Municipality, the Lod Development Foundation (NGO), and the Israeli Association for Self Psychology and the Study of Subjectivity (NGO), Anatta also funds the foundation.
Kiryat Adam is a center for learning, assessment, and treatment dedicated to human beings: the individual and their inner world, as well as the person in relation to loved ones and their surrounding environment. Rooted in Lod, the center was created to provide attentive, professional response to the needs of the city’s residents and those of the wider region. In addition, it serves as a leading professional hub in the psychological field—for individuals, the community, education and welfare systems, nonprofit organizations, and all those working to support the well-being of children, youth, and adults in the city.
Lod is a multicultural city that reflects the full diversity of Israeli society—Arab and Jewish residents, religious and secular communities of all faiths, ethnicities, and backgrounds living side by side. But even with this socio-cultural richness, the city also faces social divides, complexity, and significant challenges, including conflict and economic hardship experienced amongst many residents.
For the past decade, Kiryat Adam has served as a professional and community anchor in the heart of Lod and its surrounding area, providing a wide-ranging clinical framework for the city's children and their families, while also serving as a nurturing professional home for local therapists.
