The Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company was founded in 1973 at Kibbutz Ga’aton in the Western Galilee by the late Yehudit Arnon—one of the pioneers of dance education in Israel and a recipient of the Israel Prize. Under the artistic direction of Rami Be’er, the company has become synonymous with original, powerful, and groundbreaking artistic creation, earning international recognition and the admiration of local and international audiences

The company’s dancers live and create at the International Dance Village in Ga’aton—a vibrant cultural center that serves as a home for creation, learning, and the cultivation of movement arts. In addition to the main company is Kibbutzit 2, the youth company, as well as educational programs such as Dance Journey in collaboration with the Jewish Agency, professional workshops and annual excellence programs. Each year, approximately 4,000 Israeli and international dancers, choreographers, and artists visit the Dance Village in search of inspiration and learning

The company views dance as an educational and cultural tool with significant social value, and works to expose diverse audiences to the art of dance through performances in schools, movement workshops, and community programs that encourage encounters between different cultures, religions, and generations

Anatta Foundation has supported the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company since 2013, helping fund performances in schools within the Arab sector. Thanks to this support, students are introduced to contemporary dance, original Israeli artistic creation, and enriching cultural experiences emerging from Israel’s geographic periphery
