Wellness and Mental Health
First Line Med (FLM) is a large-scale therapeutic initiative established following the events of October 7, 2023, with the aim of providing professional, accessible, and long-term mental health care to those affected by trauma
The project provides free-of-charge treatment to those directly affected, survivors of the massacres, and bereaved families, as well as to broader circles within the Gaza border and Negev communities. FLM works in close collaboration with the National Insurance Institute and the Ministries of Defense, Health, and Welfare and Social Affairs, based on the understanding that sustained mental health care is essential to both individual and societal recovery
FLM brings together more than 450 senior mental health professionals in the fields of psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, and group therapy, who are committed to providing ongoing care to patients for at least three years — a period required to process complex trauma and gradually return to stable and secure lives
Operating nationwide, FLM provides individual therapy, support groups, psychiatric consultation, and support for families in the primary, secondary, and tertiary circles of trauma
In addition to providing treatment, FLM documents its processes of recovery and learning in order to develop professional knowledge that will contribute to a deeper understanding of the psychological impact of national trauma and to building resilience for the future
As of June 2026, more than 750 families have received treatment through FLM, accounting for more than 30,000 hours of treatment, with approximately 1,000 therapy sessions taking place each month. In addition, approximately 220 sessions have been held within dedicated processing groups
The Anatta Foundation’s continued support enables FLM to provide high-quality, long-term treatment at no cost to all those who need it — reflecting a genuine commitment to healing, resilience, and community.
